    Description

This superb American-made stainless steel, oil-core electric skillet by SaladMaster was made to last and to outperform most any ordinary electric skillet. It has an oil core, which holds the heat evenly, for fewer scorches and hot spots. The uncoated stainless steel interior is easy to clean--fully submersible in sudsy water when you remove the cord.
If what looks like a date on the underside IS the date, it was made in January 1966. And during its 50+ years it was definitely USED plenty. There are expected light scratches to the cooking surface. The knob is quite faded. There is baked-on grime around the four bakelite 'feet.'
I tested it. It heated up evenly and fairly quickly, and it cooled down slowly. I have an infrared thermometer but it doesn't work on shiny surfaces, so I did my own test: I fried an egg at 300 in a little butter and it turned out perfect....evenly cooked, not rubbery, and quite delicious!
It is quite heavy--over 7 pounds with pan, lid, and cord--and the shipping cost corresponds. I'll offer two Priority Mail options, and depending on your distance from Virginia, one option will be more economical than the other, but either will arrive pretty quick, and carefully packed. Thank you for your interest!
